New Logo…Fresh Start – {Woodbridge, VA Photographer}

Fresh, Clean, Classic, Muted…these are just a few of the words that I wanted my Logo to depict.  When I first started this journey in photography, I was anxious, excited and impatient!  I hired a graphic designer to create a Logo for me and while she did an amazing job; honestly, I didn’t have a clue what I wanted.  I chose bright, bold, vibrant and whimsical colors and patterns.  Who was I kidding?  When have I ever been bright & vibrant?  And, I am certainly not whimsical.  Ha — anyone who knows me, can tell you that.  I really am just a simple country girl from Maine.

I went to visit my friend Rachel Clarke yesterday, and as we were talking about life and photography over coffee, she started asking me questions about what my favorite colors were and adjectives that described me as a person.  Before I knew it, we had created a new Logo for me that truly depicted who I was and what my photography represents.  When Rachel printed my new Logo on a disc for me so I could see the end result, I was overcome with emotion and just started crying…I know, I know silly right?  I was just so proud and excited to have a brand that I feel will take my photography to a new level, I couldn’t help myself.   I am in love with my new Logo and I am so thrilled that Rachel is not only a very talented photographer, but now she can add graphic design to her resume. :)  Rachel — you amaze me with your mad PS skills.  I wish I knew half of what you know!  Thank you, thank you, thank you…from the bottom of my heart.  I feel like this new Logo is a fresh start for me in my business.

Best Friends Session – {Woodbridge, VA Photographer}

Oh my…I can’t believe that the summer is nearly over.  Where did it go?  We are gearing up for a very busy year.  With Shelby graduating this year from High School, softball, soccer and a countless number of other activities going on, I know that it will be a whirlwind of emotions and excitement! :)  The girls really wanted to do some photos of them and their best friends, so Morgan grabbed Emily and away we went.

I love that we found this little beach area at a local park, and so last night I trekked all of my camera gear with them in tow and we got some fab pictures.  The girls had so much fun laughing and running around; being the 12 year olds that they are.  I know that when I look back on these pictures, I will remember her “tween” years and all of the fun that she had this summer.

Stay tuned for Shelby and her BFF Taylor next week! :)

I couldn’t decide between color and b&w on this one…Oh my!

Renaissance Festival – (Annapolis, MD Photographer}

Let me just start by sayin’, if you haven’t been to a Renaissance Festival; GO!  We had a blast today walking around the Festival in Annapolis Maryland.  You can find the site here.  I have never been to one of these Festivals and I had so much fun.  People really get into these, dressing in midevil costumes and some take it quite seriously.  We saw quite a few (ummm) interesting costumes. :)  The kids had a blast with the pony rides, dunk tank, face painting, jousting, etc.  There are endless vendors selling tarot card readings, pottery, swords, woodworking and my favorite, was the blown glass display.   The food is amazing and they have everything from turkey legs to cheesecake on a stick…YUM!  Who wouldn’t love that?

Here are just a few of the pictures from today.  Enjoy!:)

#47…Check – {Woodbridge, VA Photographer}

I finally completed #47 on my 101 in 1001 list.  If you haven’t seen my list, you can find it here.  If you don’t know what a 101 in 1001 list is, it is 101 goals that you want to complete in 1001 days.  Number 47 on my list was to shoot my first wedding and I finally did that, thanks to my sister Danielle and her awesome new husband!  Thank you guys for helping me achieve a huge goal on my list.  Much Love!!!  xoxoxo

Look who’s 2 today – {Springfield, VA Photographer}

Seriously, where does the time go?  I’ll never forget the day this little beauty was born…Oh, the anticipation.  It was the first birth in our family that we didn’t know the gender of the baby beforehand and the excitement was palpitating!  Of course, I knew all along that she was a girl; but most of my family will tell you “I had no idea”.  Not true, you see I went to those ultrasound visits and after having two girls myself, I knew what to look for. :)

I went to see Bryn and the boys this morning and just so happened to take my camera, ladybug wings and a red tutu; all by chance;)  hehehe.  Here are a few of the pictures I got of Bryn, Ryan and Dominic this morning.  Auntie loves you!  xoxoxo

Are they not the cutest kiddos?
